Preparation:
Like any ceramic, the proper preparation plays a key role in the final result. Be sure to thoroughly wash all surfaces before starting your Fireball ceramic protection project.
- If the surfaces show signs of protection, use Fireball Wax Off to reset your protection. Wax Off safely removes old waxes, sealants and even many ceramic coatings from surfaces in one easy step.
- Perform chemical decontamination using the Fireball Iron Burn to remove ferrous deposits and industrial fallout from painted surfaces.
- Proceed to the physical decontamination step using a traditional or synthetic clay bar. We suggest the use of a synthetic clay glove with the Fireball Iron Burn, which thanks to its sufficiently lubricated formulation will allow a quick and effective decontamination of surfaces. *Fireball Glass is also a great lubricant for physical decontamination.
- Rewash the vehicle as needed and dry surfaces.
- Perform a paint correction if surfaces require correction work. It is noted that a ceramic does not require a correction to obtain good adhesion, however it must be completely free of surface contaminants. *The use of abrasives HELP to clean/prepare the surface for proper adhesion. If the paint shows signs of damage, you may want to correct it before laying the ceramic.
- Once the surfaces have been decontaminated and inspected, use the Fireball Reborn to purify the surfaces before laying the ceramic. Reborn contains a mixture of several types of alcohols to remove oils and greases that may still be present on the surfaces and that are detrimental to the adhesion of the ceramic. We suggest the use of two soft microfiber cloths during this crucial step. One to apply the Reborn, the other to wipe off residues.
Installation:
- Shake the can aerosol for MINIMUM 30 seconds vigorously before first use, shake occasionally during use.
- Spray the MAUI Cancoat directly on a 4 fold microfiber or microfiber applicator.
- Apply by section, evenly, with minimal overlap of the surface that has just been treated. Ideally, we should be able to pass as little as possible in the same place. Make sure you have a sufficient and adequate amount on your applicator or microfiber for a consistent application.
- Wiping time varies depending on temperature and ambient humidity ranging from + or - 45 seconds to a few minutes. ** Wiping the ceramic too early will remove too many ceramic particles and significantly reduce the smooth effect on the paint. You will want to feel a SLIGHT resistance under the microfiber when wiping, but without having difficulty leveling the ceramic during the first pass of the microfiber.
- Once finished, clean the nozzle well to eliminate the creation of crystals. Store the product (away from the sun) for future use.
